Jack Mack and the Heart Attack is an American soul and R&B band that was formed in 1980 in Los Angeles, California. Their debut album, Cardiac Party, was produced by Glenn Frey of The Eagles on Irving Azoff's Full Moon Records/Warner Bros. They are known for performing in and writing songs for many major motion pictures and television shows as well as being the house band for Fox TV's. That’s how I came across my selection for today, Mac Barnett‘s “Why a good book is a secret door.” I’m very glad that I did. I love Barnett’s wandering Talk. It’s about how art occupies a reality somewhere between truth and lies, and how we can, too. It’s about the wonder of children.
Jack OS X consists of four tools: the server Jack and its graphic interface, called JackPilot; JackRouter, which lets any application that uses CoreAudio be a client of the Jack server; and other plugins that boost all its features.
Some applications like Ardour require the installation of Jack OS X in order to be used.

Writing it was intense; it is deeply personal, and in my labors to describe my experiences and insights, I relived much of my life. Joy, pain, fear, triumph, love—all of it. Soon it will be there for anyone and everyone to read, an open door, secret spaces exposed. That fact stirs up many emotions for me. They’re difficult to parse.

In an effort to do so, I’ve been making my way through TED Talks on the topic of books. That’s how I came across my selection for today, Mac Barnett‘s “Why a good book is a secret door.” I’m very glad that I did.
I love Barnett’s wandering Talk. It’s about how art occupies a reality somewhere between truth and lies, and how we can, too. It’s about the wonder of children. It’s about creativity, and humor, and imagination. It’s about an author of children’s fiction, and his love for his work and his audience. It’s heavy and hilarious, whimsical and worthwhile, fun and forceful.
Barnett weaves his way through it all in a way that doesn’t make sense as much as it feels right. It hit home for me; listening to his story heightened my excitement and calmed my anxiety over publication day. That might not make much sense, I know. But it felt right.
